About The Northern Inuit Society

History of the Northern Inuit Society

The Northern Inuit Society was founded in the early 1990’s to govern the breeding and wellbeing of this fantastic breed and the Northern Inuit Society today remains the only governing body of the Northern Inuit dog and holds the complete pedigree database for Northern Inuits. As you will see in our Breeders section, the Northern Inuit Society has a strict Code of Ethics and all Northern Inuits must be fully health tested before being accepted into the breeding scheme.

As the Northern Inuit is an established breed, the Northern Inuit Society is strongly against the crossing of Northern Inuits with other breeds and this is prohibited under its Code of Ethics. Unfortunately, as the popularity in Northern Inuits has grown so has the number of unethical breeders trying to cash in and sell mixed breeds as Northern Inuits. As a result, if you are considering buying a Northern Inuit please ensure that you buy a puppy from one of our registered breeders.

To find out more about the Northern Inuit Society join our group on Facebook, Northern Inuit Society Dogs or use the Contact section on this website.
