Mountain Milly’s Adventures

Milly, known as Mountain Milly in the NI World, has conquered more mountains than most people! She spends her time with her owner, George Gallagher, hiking and trekking up mountains in Scotland.

Milly was bred by Chandrika in Scotland and as a young dog George was careful not to over exercise her and to build up to tackling longer walks and climbs!

So far Milly has notched up climbs on Ben Arthur, Goatfell, Ben Vain, Beinn Narnain, Ben Chonzie, Stob Odhair, Ben More, Ben Lomond, Ben Vorlich, Meall Chaordie, Stob Chabhar, and Ben Nevis. She has also been on three Scottish Islands; Millport, Arran and Mull. When she is not climbing mountains with George she is doing low level walks at places such as Glen Beranter, Arrochar and Aberfoyle as well as enjoying a well earned rest!

Zunni (aka Lady from Game of Thrones) update

Zunni bred by Mahlek found fame in Season 1 of Game of Thrones when she played Lady, Sansa Stark’s direwolf. Lady met a rather grizzly end in the hit TV show and once filming had ended Sophie Turner (who played Sansa) and her family adopted Zunni. Zunni is now 10.5 years old and happily living with Sophie’s family.

Here are some recent pictures of Zunni from April 2015 enjoying her retirement and one Sophie shared on Instagram.

Feedback from KC Judge

Here is what our KC Judge had to say about our beautiful NIs and the Melton Show he judged:

“I just wanted to say what a lovely day we had at the show yesterday, I was very impressed with the dogs shown and how friendly the exhibitors were and also the way they applauded each other after each class, it is very rare to see exhibitors applauding each other in the ring with such enthusiasm and it was very warming to me and obviously to the winners for there fellow competitors to do this. The outside applause really added to the great atmosphere of the show.

The youngsters coming through are excellent, I loved the minor puppy, the puppy and the Junior classes all of the exhibits in these were sound and show a great future for the breed. I think this goes to show your breeding pattern is spot on and I hope you all keep up your  good work. I also enjoyed the veterans, some of them are amazing and a credit to there owners. Also I enjoyed judging the Novelty classes but what touched my heart most of all was when I gave the reserve best novelty rosette to the little girl who had won the child handling the whole of the line up applauded her and the cheers from outside the ring were lovely for her to hear, you really are a great bunch of people.

Please let us know when your next show will be at Old Dalby and we will come along and support you but this time I will bring my camera and get some pictures of this beautiful breed and we will also bring a raffle prize and help support the breed.

Kind Regards,

Steve Myring”
